Hope you’re all well,
Whenever I’ve purchased a drugstore eyeshadow palette I have always been so disappointed in the colour selection or the pigmentation. However, I went back with the recommendation from a work colleague that Revolution Pro Cosmetics were doing some pretty good stuff.
The palette I initially wanted to purchase was out of stock so I settled for the Goldmine palette.
First Impressions …
The packaging was crappy, which I expected for a palette that costs £8. However, it didn’t bother me much because I wanted to know the quality of the shadows.
The palette features a mixture of silky mattes and subtle shimmers and has a theme of warm golden, brown and orange shades. Altogether there are 18 shades; 8 matte shades and 10 shimmer shades.
The shadows felt soft, however, didn’t swatch well on my hand which was disappointing, however, was far better than the Maybelline eyeshadow palettes I picked up.
However, when I tested it out, I was surprised and how good the colour pay off was! They blended out well, the colours look beautiful together. I mean it’s not the same as an Urban Decay palette, but it’s a fantastic palette to get especially from the drugstore!
I love the colours; billionaire, credit card and opulent.
The Look …
I really wish I took a close up of the eye look but this is the only slip I have …
The verdict (2.5/5)
The only bad thing I have to say is that I wish there were more matte shades in comparison to the number of shimmer shades. Overall, the palette performs pretty well. It’s the first palette I’ve purchased by Revolution, and I’m impressed … it’ll be a fantastic addition to my kit.
Later on, I’ll upload a makeup look using this palette …
Until next time,
