If you’re here to gain self-confidence, you adjust your attitude and expectations, not your weight!
In saying this, there are ways to feel good and beat the bloat without starving yourself and feeling miserable! Opts these few tips into your weekly routine and see the results in the upcoming week(s) depending on your body (everybody is different no one’s body is the same!)
1. Drink water.
Many of you would opt for a fruit smoothie or a sports drink (which do contain about 100 calories per serving) but these beverages will not satisfy you, therefore, are a waste of excess calories to your daily intake. Other drinks may contain high amounts of sodium and carbohydrates which encourage your body to retain water, hence why you bloat.
Keeping your body hydrated is so important because 75% is composed of water! Many of our essential body functions require water and one of those important functions is kickstarting our metabolism and strangely enough, water also helps flush out excess water weight.
Add slices of lemon and mint leaves infused in your water to make a great detox drink, so you don’t have to spend ridiculous amounts of money on weight loss teas.
2. Create meals that contain a large volume of food with low calories.
I can’t starve myself with small portions of food. I get cranky, I won’t be able to sleep at night nor will I be able to concentrate.
So, one way to create large volume food with low calories is to swap the refined carbohydrates (pasta, white rice, bread) for vegetables! You can consume as many veggies as you like as it takes up a lot of volume. Refined carbs break down quickly and easily, therefore don’t leave you full for very long.
So, if I’m creating a meal, I cook 80% veggies with 20% of other things like noodles, rice, sauce, meat and so on.
3. 30 minutes of cardio a day.
This has to be added into your day – excluding walking the dog.
I like to swim, other people may like to dance or go for a jog. You gotta find something that gets your heart rate going because any workout will burn calories. While doing cardio, do exercises that engage multiple muscle groups at one time.
So jump squats, jumping lunges, planking, skipping, heal lifted squats, life weights so are so many exercises and workout videos online – I always look for Blogilates and GraceFit for workout videos.
Doing squats and sit-ups (3×12) adds definition and tightens your abs, butt, and legs temporarily.
That’s right – sex. The catch is you have to be on top.
No this is by no means you have to hook up with a guy every night, but if you want, then, by all means, sis, embrace your sexuality. But the fact is, this position is a fat blaster because by being on top you do the rocking, and the more active you are, the more calories you burn. You can burn up to 144 calories every 30 minutes.
A bonus – after sex (or during) your body releases endorphins – the “feel good” hormones.
Regardless if you sleep 5 hours, or 8 hours, having 30 minutes of extra sleep per night feels refreshing when you wake up. Therefore, you make better food choices, you won’t feel lethargic and skip the gym. Also, a more restful sleep of 7-8 hours, boosts your metabolism and your body builds muscle while you snooze, promoting muscle tone!
I hope you found this to be helpful!
