Everyone, including myself, have days where I’ll feel unhappy or unsatisfied and this could either be a grey day or from stress. However, if this is a reoccurring feeling then you probably lack self-love. It’s unfortunate to say but people get so mad when you love yourself either because they don’t love themselves or because they have an ugly nature.
Some of us may actually be confused. How do you love yourself, it’s easy to love someone else, but how do you “love” yourself?
1. Have positive thoughts
This is not as easy as it sounds, especially when you have that voice in the back of your mind pulling you down. Ignore this voice. The voice will only have power over you if you listen. Tell yourself, today will be a good day and actually believe these words when you say them to yourself.
2. Smile at your reflection
It’s really easy to point out what you don’t like about yourself but try to start appreciating everything about yourself; the good, the bad, the ugly, the sexy – all of it. The good and the bad make you unique and different from everyone else. So embrace your differences, nobody is perfect and if they were they’re not real they’re plastic.
3. Feed your soul, your mind and your body
Always keep a positive environment around you, cut out toxic people, have healthy relationships, read a book, listen to an inspirational podcast, listen to uplifting music and eat well and exercise – nourish your body with nutrients and work out to release any stress.
4. Don’t dwell on the past
This is a struggle but the only way to move on is to not look back. If you keep looking back at what you can’t change then you’ll simply miss the opportunities in front of you.
5. For every action, there is a reaction.
If you enforce positive actions within your life, you’ll definitely get a positive reaction back. For instance, if you decide to join a club, you’ll meet new people and the chances of making new friends is a lot higher than you not joining the club in the first place.
