Long story short, I can now do makeup looks because I got my eyebrows done – no seriously – that was the main reason why I never posted pictures of myself!
Hey, everyone! Hope you’re all well! 😀
I’m gonna try and break down how I put my face together without too much waffle …
So, first off this is my bare face, as you can see I have discolouration, hormonal acne, scarring and puffy under eyes.
I always begin with washing my face, exfoliating and applying moisturiser, but today I applied a serum (Vichy Aqua thermal serum) because my skin has been really dry recently. I then apply primer – I use the Benefit Porefessional Primer.
Then I colour correct any areas that have dark spots and discolouration using the LA Girl colour corrector in orange; so around my under eyes, my acne scars, any areas with hyper pigmentation and blend it out with a beauty blender.
Then I’ll jump on to foundation – I’ll dot my Estee Lauder Double Wear all over my face and neck and again blend using my beauty blender. (I did a review on this foundation as a separate blog post).
Then straight after, I’ll use my Maybelline Eraser Eye Concealer in Nude which will double up as my highlight – I’ll apply this under my eyes in a “V” shape and blend (using my beauty blender) upwards towards my cheekbones and over my eyelids.
I’ll set my concealer using Makeup Revolution Luxury Banana Powder – it’s cheap and does the job and doesn’t make any areas of my face look white.
To contour my face, I use the Real Techniques contour brush along with the Sleek: Face Contour Kit in Medium. When I’m contouring my cheek bones, I always blend my contour in a circular upwards motion – never downwards. To sharpen my contour: I’ll take any excess foundation left on my beauty blender and run it along the jawline area and again blend it out so there are harsh lines.
I added MAC – Soft and Gentle on the tops of my cheek bones for a little glow.
To bring colour back to my face, I’ll apply the Bourjois bronzing powder (52) across my temples, under my jaw line, down my neck and across my cheeks.
I then finished off my base by applying Maybelline baby lips in the colour; 23 chai tea latte.
Now on to the eyes …
The palette I used today was the Urban Decay Heat Palette… I also used the Real Techniques brushes eye starter set. (I also did a review on this palette as a separate blog post).
I first applied Low Blow in the area of my crease and just a little towards my highlight area. I used this as a transitional shade.
Then using my crease brush I applied En Fuego, in my outer V and crease and blended it out using any clean fluffy brush.I then applied Scorched using the base brush over my lid and applied Ashes mixed with Scorched using the accent brush across my lower lashline.
I did blend out any areas using a clean fluffy brush again for no harsh lines. I finished off this look with top eyeliner. I totally forgot to add mascara! >.<
I hope you liked this look and found this helpful!
