Review: Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation

I hate taking ages to my makeup and I have become so sick of my Mac Studio Fix Fluid Foundation I really wanted to try something new. I originally wanted to buy the Nars Sheer Glow foundation but unfortunately, they didn’t have my shade, so I settled for buying the Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation instead.

IMG_0547First off, there is are an impressive amount of shades with various tones ranging from cool tones to deep tones, so take some time in finding your shade at the counter because it’s really easy to get matched wrong, which happened to me the first time.

I found an exact match using the website findation.com – this website is amazing purely because it will find your shade of foundation of other brands using your current foundation shade. For example, I’m an NC42 in Mac Studio fix, using this I was able to find my exact match for the Estee Lauder foundation and this is by far the perfect shade I have out of all my foundations it has a really lovely warm olive tone.
The foundation has a runny texture and doesn’t have a punge
nt smell.

I liked how easy it was to layer other products on top seamlessly onto my skin and because of the texture, it was really quick to blend out.

The foundation is very full coverage (even though the description says medium coverage) so a little goes a long way and gives a natural finish and doesn’t oxidise.

However, if you have large pores and don’t use a pore minimising primer, your pores will show through this

foundation, I would recommend the Maybelline pore eraser primer or Benefit porefessional primer.

The longevity is amazing, I didn’t need to set it with powder and for someone such as myself who works long hours, this foundation lasted all day without oiling up around my chin, nose and forehead even during the summer heat.

The only downside about this foundation is that it doesn’t come with a pump.

Pros:

  • Wide range of shades (natural finish)
  • Doesn’t oxidise
  • Full coverage
  • 10+ hours staying power

Cons:

  • Expensive – £32.50
  • Doesn’t come with a pump
  • Needs to be worn with a pore minimising primer

I hope you found this helpful, thank you for reading!

Love,
Nisha xo
